All,
Heads Up.

A pick-up game is being scheduled/planned for this Saturday morning, 21 August; first game start time is 0800.

I am invited as the Bowmar Church-representing "adult", but am not the host.  If you seriously (only) would like to attend then email me at randall.r.williams@usace.army.mil.

Game is to be in the woods and fields behind Bowmar Baptist Church. One mile south/west past Walmart on HWY 61 SOUTH.

Large church on hill, proceed just in front of church, past church building through long parking lot, through gate by large yellow storage building, then down hill ~200 yards.

We have a large covered pavillion and nice restrooms for men and women.

Games in the past have been fast paced with little down time.  May have to slow down though Saturday because of heat. McD's and other food vendors nearby.  Bring plenty of water, a good fight attitude, and wavier.

Well I won't make it because I'll be in Baltimore on Friday, (pretty good reason if I might say so myself) but it's good to hear about some action happening in your neck of the woods for a change!!  Maybe ARGYLE and DER VIKING could make it!  Either way, have fun Mr Randall!!

Specs on the field:

We mainly engage on the sides of two wooded hills that have washes and gullies other natural hide and fight sites.  These are very close to the pavilion staging area, which allows for quick games. One hillside has a creek along the side-bottom-with deep banks: a good place to snipe and evade.  Also, we have some cleared wooded areas and large ball fields. We also have two forts that can play into the action.  However, with the tremendous amount of rain in the last few days, with more expected, the afore-referenced field fort, mentioned by Crimsonclaw, will be difficult to access and probably is very flooded.  Unfortunately, this is the much better fort. The other 'fort' is more of a suburban-ad hoc-assembled clutter.
I too helped build the better field fort, with Scott I.; I.e. Boanerges is Aramaic for Sons of Thunder.  This realistically built hillside field fort relies on several fox-holes and bunkers/trenches, which currently are probably more like small swimming pools. Another challenge is in getting to this fort, a now-flooded creek/drainage ditch has to be forded and the ground for a few hundred yards thereafter is boggy swamp.  Sounds like fun!

My brother was also on S.O.T. with the aforementioned friend. i will keep their names confidential until we meet face to face. besides, i am not sure what names they used back then, or if they went with their real names lol.
