GGB pistol mag

Hey guys. what is the piece of a gas pistol mag called that you press to release the gas?

mine is messed up. gas goes right through the mag. I'm gonna try to replace the 4 gaskets, but if that doesnt work i might have to replace the whole assembly, but not sure what its called.

Well, iItook the valve apart. And there are 2 small "fat" gaskets (the interior push button) and 2 large "ultra thin" gaskets (outside screw in portion). easiest way to describe them, with the small/large descriptoin being in relation to each other.

first question,  Should these gaskets be ultra thin or should all 4 gaskets be similiar in size?

I took them to Revel Ace hardware, and they do not sell the ultra thin gaskets.
will take the valve/mag back to see if i can get some gaskets to work.

Try 1) auto parts stores like orieleys.. be prepared for  weird looks.. 2) hobbytown usa, check in the rc plane  engine parts.. and grab some shock oil whple youre there for lube purposes.

so RC shock oil does work for airsoft?

Any oil that is silicone based will work usually

Can you not order those seals through someone perhaps an airsoft dealer of some sort if only we new someone with access to airsoft equipment and parts hmmmmmm

possibly. but havent really looked that hard. i may end up having to buy the whole valve (s&w 40f gbb magazine.) just figured I would start with the gaskets.

Ive never come across a valve rebuild kit, though there may be some out there, the valves are realtively inexpensive though. As for oil, shock oil is great for airsoft purposes, you must use 100% silicone oil, if it has "petrolium distillates" it will eat your orings.

ok so i broke down and sent an email to cybergun in regards to the valve gasket seals. I recieved this email today.

"Hello Mr. Humphrey,
Your request for the information about the size of seals for the SW40 has been forward (through various channels)  to me.
I contacted the manufacturer to get the information for you.
The sizes for the seals  are as follows.
S5 4.5 id X1.5
1.0 X 7

"What form of measurement do you use (mm, cm, inches)?  I am unsure of what the S5 and P3 mean.

Is the following correct? The R0# are the part numbers of the SW40 Valve gasket seals. I did not see a fourth set of sizes.

R05- 4.5 ID X1.5
R06- 7.0 ID X 1.0
R07- 8.0 ID X 1.0
R08-"


I'm pretty sure the last seal will be Y.Y ID X 1.5.

these are in mm measurements. the second number is the thickness.

ive found a 7mm ID x 1.5mm thickness, not sure if it will work or not. but ima gonna check out Great Southern Gun shop across from the Pearl High school to see if they have seals that small.

so after soaking my gbb pistol magazine valve seals in silicone for about a week. I put the valve back together and put it in the mag. it seems to be holding gas pretty well. gonna put it in the pistol tonight and fire some rounds to see how it holds.

its been sitting next to me for about 15 min, no propane smell. no leak sounds.

thats because the propane has already leaked out!
