O.k.  Laymans terms.. Huh?. With a charged battery in the gun, when you pull the trigger on semi auto(I hope you know what that is) does it shoot the bb first then the gun makes a zipping or buzzing noise?
Or does the gun make a noise first then the bb shoots?

It should make a winding noise before the BB shoots because of the gears having to push the piston back.... Unless you have cocked the piston back manually... I could be wrong but that is how it should work lol

Yes that is how is does work on most guns.
The Marui PSG1 Sniper aeg was different, it cocked the piston, and was held by a sear, then when you fired, it released the piston, fired the bb, and then recocked the gearbox for the next shot.

So your "lock time" was faster than with a standard aeg.

I have heard of a few newer mpg's that have come to market lately that do the same thing, OR they can be cocked manually.

If this is one of them, it would possibly be a reasonably priced upgradeable gearbox for a great DMR platform.

Yes, if you leave it cocked for weeks on end it would weaken the spring, but the same happens with a regular full auto aeg if you don't fire 1 or 2 semi auto shots at the end of the day to make sure your piston is forward.

And it is different.

Or with an ics or one of the newer aeg's with a spring tension release (the forward assist on most)

on most blowback guns the "bolt" starts forward at the same time as the piston (ebb system) but the bb is on its way down the barrel  by the time it finishes its stroke, but you hear it as a chuk chuk chuk when firing, ive not heard any guns where you could discern the two distinct actions. Remember though that if youre firing a super rof the blowback wont have time to fully cycle, which can place adverse strain on the gb and components leading to early failure. But the umarex g36ebb has probably my favorite blowbach sound, aside from the noveske gas blowback scars which sound like a diesel running next to your head in full auto

I have a gun like the one you are talking about Bravo. I have a really old KWC HK33 which has a really interesting gearbox. Like you said it holds the spring cocked and when you pull the trigger releases the piston which fires the bb and as the piston comes forward it forces the two connects to touch which powers the motor to then tiny member the spring again. You can also flip a switch and put it into manual mode which then it becomes like a bolt action sniper rifle. I actually used it back around summer time at a game with ya'll in mendenhall and I killed about 6 or 7 CMG guys cause they thought I had a sniper(cause it is really quiet in manual mode) I picked one or two off and then they decided to rush me right after I shot(assuming I would have to bolt it), I simply flipped the switch and lit them all up. It works pretty well and is a pretty cool design.

Yes i remember that weapon too, i worked on one while in colorado, i would love to get one, but they are discontinued, but really different.
(shameless begging and butt kissing here) Kiss IF you ever decide to sell or trade the above mentioned HK33, please look me up.

In doing some research i have come to find out there are 2 g36's under license by Umarex and they are of VERY different quality.

There is a low end one for about $100 that shoots about 300fps with .12's!, and is the dual mode, and then there is the other one that is close to $300 and is really good quality, easy take down, i would like to get my hands on a k model of that one.

i have the cheap one  Grin cuz im broke. and it looks like it gets 300fps with .20s too, and then .25s just make it suck a little, and then .28s cause the universe to explode with all its suck. but for some reason I love its cheap/kinda inaccurate way of working.  Roll Eyes

Don't feel bad I once owned a BE aug. Talk about cheap, the only metal parts in it were the metal springs and the aluminum inner barrel.
But it was a fun gun and would chase the neighboorhood dogs out of the yard.
