So heres the eternal debate, which mags do you like and why.  For this thread we will forego mention of my beloved boxmags. So what conventional type of mag is your favorite and more importantly i wanna hear WHY!

High cap because I can carry way less mags.  I don't care if they are unrealistic in regards to capacity.  I would carry 1000 round mags on my day job if it were possible.  In Airsoft I can carry 600 round mags because it is possible.  Realism is dodging the bullets/bbs that have your name on it nomatter how many there are.  Sorry if I got on a tangent but I've seen and took part of the same debate on MSA.  I promise you this, in a real firefight nobody jumps up, calls time out and whines when somebody shoots 31 rounds!

I use mid caps (MCs) only, and I encourage those on my team to use MCs (though only a few take my advice). I don't look down on people who use HCs (okay, yes I do). I like MCs because there is no winding, there is no little "BB Jingle" whenever I run, and, most important, it forces me to place my shots carefully. I carry a standard loadout - 6+1 magazines, 99% of the time. With my new loadout, I may carry 8+1, though my two additional magazines will be carried in pouches on my back and there mainly as extra magazines to help my buddies instead of myself. To me, it takes no skill or precision to lay down 400+ rounds of a HC - spray and pray is just not my thing. For some people, it works. And to me, if you are one of those people for whom it works, get a SAW. To me, it takes a real shot to refrain from firing on automatic and fire on semi, sending more precise and accurate rounds at a target. Just my humble, yet correct, opinion.

Me?  I have only highcaps.  Why?  Cuz I'm cheap.  One of my AK mags holds as much as 4 midcaps or 20 lowcaps.  BB rattle?  By the time you've heard my bbs rattling, it's too late!  Realism?  Anything over 30 rounds isn't realistic anyway.  Spray and pray?  Just because you run highcaps doesn't mean you don't try to precisely place your shots.  Do I spray and pray?  Sometimes.  Especially since I "somehow" end up playing rogue at every game.  That means that sometimes I have to be my own SAW gunner!  Is that realistic?  No.  Is it fun?  Yes.  Do I have tons of respect for LC and MC users? ABSOLUTELY!  Have I "killed" many of them while they were reloading?  You bet your a$$ I have!!  Afro

Personaly it depends on my mood and the event. I understand both positions and maintain that it is a personal opinion and I'll not give anyone a hard time for their preference.

I have Midcaps for my P90 and highs for my m16 and G36. I can understand the draw for both but I mainly use highcaps. If your just careful how you handle your weapon when your moving(if your trying to moving quietly) you can avoid the rattle. There is a point in which realism is not as important as having fun playing (a.k.a carrying 10-15 20-30round mags). I also agree that just cause you have a highcap does not mean you "waste" bbs and spay and pray constantly. Most people I know that are regualrs of airsoft(and high caps) shoot either semi or bursts for the most parts anyway.

I do really like midcaps in that you can have between 70-170rds without winding. Also the act of changing mags in the middle of a fire fight does adds some fun and excitment(also gets you killed sometimes, and I have been on both sides of it).

One of the main reasons I don't normally use midcaps(cept the P90) is I don't like wearing a ton of gear. I am a very mobile person(running, crouching, crawling....) and it gets in my way or slows me down when I wear a lot of gear. It is also more expensive. Most of the time when you change the style of gun, you have to change your gear. I have a P90, M16, G36... all of would require me to buy a bunch of mags as well as pouches for each kind(and possibly a different vest). This would require an extra $100-$300 for each gun.

I enjoy playing with both and understand those that like both but personally I find it more practical(both in game, and in wallet) to use highcaps.

I can definitely understand this. I run one kit. One gun. So if you have 2+ guns, I can definitely understand the desire to spend less cash on kit for any particular loadout.

I believe they are designed for Range and not convenience.

Here is my take:

High Caps-
The high cap Magazines are for the outdoor play for longer range shooting.  Reason why, is because we all know that sometimes at 170 feet you can actually walk out of the way of the bb's.  If we were to use Mids or lows in this environment, then our guns would all need to be shooting 500 FPS with a 6.03mm or better barrel with .25g ammunition(actually this is for Chrono purposes, you should use .36g for this).  This would make the rounds reach the enemy with no problem.  Since we do not operate like this, we would need to use High Caps.  It usually ends up with a Spray and Prey.

Mid Caps-
The Mid Cap Magazine will be used in the event that the field has been brought down to a less than 130 Foot distance.  The Shoots would end up being on target 9/10 shots, so you would end up on wasting less ammo trying to shoot your target.  I personally LOVE the Mid caps, because I to hate the Rattle (Oh and I hate having to stop and wind up the magazine).  I also use these because I hate wasting my AMMO.  It keeps it affordable for me lol.

Low Caps-
The Low Cap Magazine is for CQB ONLY!  Realistically, this is where your rounds will not miss what it is aimed at.  You would not Spray and Prey because obviously you would be just trying to hit a Fly or something stupid.  The Low cap would serve its purpose here.

Overall, Each Magazine has its place in Airsoft and everyone has their opinions.  I just prefer the Mid Caps, but I can see why everyone likes High caps.  Its because they have to carry less Mags, and make less trips for refills, which is why its perfect for most of the play we do around our parts.  I believe they are designed for Range and not convenience.

Personally I use midcaps ( Magpul P-Mags).  Where I play and work its semi auto fire, so if I can train myself to count how many shots I have fired, I know exactly when I need to reload so I don't get stuck blank firing.  It's all personal preference.  I also train just like Sf and swat teams do.  Those teams train to only shoot if you are certain you are going to hot your Target.  There is also suppressive fire though and that's where hi-caps are useful.  Otherwise in my opinion midcaps turn airsoft into paintball.
That's just me though.

EI use both mid and high, my masada load out consist of 1 high and 4 mids. Whereas the high caps are unrealistic they do come in handy and the mids offer a realistic feel. Either or I like em both, just personal preference.

My opinion. Low caps suck, i would have to carry too many of them (i hate sitting around bored, i need action). I have used mid caps for nearly 2 years , and still carry them, just hate having to leave the field for a reload (all 8 loaded is only 720 rounds). Hi caps, less reloads, more time playing...oh yeah daddy like. Just got my first auto feeding drum mag. I overdid it with the trigger, but i always put my gear through the paces so to speak. I am not disappointed with it. Mainly cause i can go nearly half a day with out a reload at all. This allows me to focus on tactics (or go spray and pray if i spend more than 3 trips to respawn in under 10 minutes).

I like them all, except low caps. Mainly this debate is moot for me, my main weapon is a MP5. high caps only hold 200 rounds. A decent mid cap for an m4 holds 90 to 150 rounds. so my high cap barely exceeds this amount. The smallest auto feed mag holds 650 for an MP5 , which is close to a high cap for an AK. My chosen weapon comes with it's own challenges, but i am cool with that.
