Alright so I'm trying to decide if I want to make my SCAR into a DMR or not. So what I need are thoughts and if any ones got them prices on good parts that would do the trick (I would like cheepest out there if possable). So give me your input on the idea I know it all comes down to my choice in the end but I just want to see what others have to say.

This is what I want if I don't DMR it

This Is what I want it I do DMR it (bipod I have is smaller so the grip would fit)

Even if you do go DMR I personally don't think you would need a bipod. Or better yet get the hand guard with the bipod in it those are sweet.  Seems to me all you would need for a cheap basic DMR is a  spring and an inner barrel. That would get you started.

Dynos right, if all youre wanting is a little ranging power and better accuracy, stronger spring and tb barrel, however if you wanna go ubersnipe with it, it realy depends on what gun you have and its internals. Main thing to keep in mind is that other forums and areas have a fps cap over which you  cannot use semi auto, normaly it rests around 400 w .25s.  Going back to the gun, if its a long barrel scar id suggest a silencer and longer barrel inside that, but if its the short scar, id go with a barrel extension also some folks have had good results with the twist barrels, having never used one myself idk. Id highly suggest if you put in a tb to drop the extrs ten bucks on a new buckung and h nub, i prefer the madbull shark set, you get a hard type and a soft type. Another thing, ammo weight, depending on how you setup the gun youre gonna hafta experiment with ammo type and weight to get the best results. Ive heard of dmr projects that had worse fps range and performance with heavier ammo, and ive heard it the other way round. Bipod... ive got two guns with em on them, saws, and had a dmr with one, and all i ever use the bipod for is when im at my car getting them ready to hold them up off the ground, rest of the time they caught briars and directed them right down my handgrip to my hand.. also, as to scopes... yea a full size big resolution zoom scope looks cool but ive come to the conclusion that when youre shooting 300-400ft max, you dont realy need anything over 4x zoom. Also the scope limits your field of vision, and can make it difficult to spot your target if you are in thick brush. Adversely ive heard of guys never having a problem with them and using them regularly and effectively, so its your call. Finaly, like ive said before keep it fun, i used to love the looks id get when id pull out my m4 mg w m203, laser, boxmag, and acog.... i didnt have any use for it cuz it weighed more than my saw and eventualy traded it off.. but when the friends came over and recoiled when they saw it sitting on a table, magnificent.. so do it up, just remember if its worth doing its worth doing right, or overdoing it alltogether.. happy hunting

I like to run the DMR/sniper role. I have a G&G M14 with a scope.

1. I rarely have need for a bipod. I feel its more a hinderance than an asset. if you ahve to move fast, its going to get in the way or slow you down as you collapse it.
2. I have a standard hunting scope. I use it a lot when I'm hunting enemies long range or when I'm on scout/watch duty.
3. Stock with .25s my gun had a pretty good range and was shooting around 340ish fps. went up to .28s and the range/fps dropped. I just had some upgrades performed and am waiting to see the effect of them. the goal was to get as close to 400fps and not go over. thus allowing me to keep full auto if needed.

so.....

I would strongly suggest a scope.
You will have to play with bb weight to see what works best with your gun.
set an FPS you want to shoot for. (cloak is right, as soon as you hit that certain fps, you have to be able to make your gun semi-auto only for some of the bigger OPs)

Well the main reason I thought about doing this is cause I've already noticed a few things I want/need to upgrade due to the pistol grip problem I've been having (witch is finally fixed for good) the teeth on the motor are getting striped pretty bad I also want to change out the spring in it to get some better FPS. Its the long type and the inner barrel comes to about the middle of the extension.

I pretty much have everything in the DMR pic bipod foregrip scope and I slapped them on it to see how it'd look and feel. If I used all the same or close to the same stuff then it really doesn't add much wight to the gun and its still easy to move around with. I would use the bipod I already have its small light and I have used it on my sniper and nailed a headshot, the scope in the pic is just what they had lol the scope I use is a 4x32 crossbow scope (borrowing it should probably go ahead and buy my own lol) witch I use on my sniper it gets the job done

Since I started airsoft the 2 main things I love are snipers and DMRs I got the sniper and the DMR just kinda came to me has something that would look cool and work for me. I want to aim for 450 to 500fps (if I can go that high) so I would need to make it semi only and I think thats where its gonna get expensive cause the last time I looked at that I think they said it was 150 for the chip and 50 to get it installed so if ya'll know anywhere cheeper please let me know.

I don't mind setting it to semi only since I started looking for a SCAR I kinda wanted to do that so its not a big issue. For a side arm I'm gonna get my dang MP7 fixed and I just got a Taurus PT99 co2 blowback so I'm not worried about losing full auto

I think we can mod his selector plate to semi only for cheaper than a mosfet unless thats the route you wanna go. As far as the fps, we can try with your stock gun to get it about 460 w20s,  which is the range of a pdi 260 spring. above that you prolly should consider a torque up gearset and even a reenforced gb. I know there are guns that shoot higher than that with stock gbxs, bluh... but as far as durability i cant endorse putting that kind of power on a stock system. Also, you might wanna get a higher power motor like the matrix hugh torque magnum 3000, just to put that ooomph into it

I was thinking about fixing the selector plate for semi but I wasn't sure if the game hosts would find it legit. The first thing I would like to get out of the way is the motor now that I'll put a price and say (if possible) no more the $50 what I also wanna find right up front is the spring and barrel. Back at op red dawn it was only shooting about 290 300 with 20s but they were making it across the bridge and then some. What grip would work any M4 grip or do I need to find a SCAR one sorry if this question is noobish lol the mp7s grip was bulit in and the motor didn't go in it so I'm totally lost with this lol
