Ok let's see how you all feel about this.  I get PMd a lot by guys asking what is cheap, reliable AEG... I always tell them ECHO1 and CYMA.   I feel that E1 has the best overall VALUE (money VS performance) on the market. Their full metal and master series will go toe-to-toe with the most expensive AEGs available today.  For example: VFCs are beautiful weapons, but will its internals last longer than a JG M4's internals?  Probably not.  Not to mention, you'll have to tear down that pretty VFC as soon as you buy it if you want it to keep up with the JG FPS-wise.

KWA?  I got burned badly with my KWA M16BR.  After 40k rounds, the whole front end of the "bulletproof" gearbox BROKE OFF COMPLETELY!! $315 down the drain!!

Well that's my opinion.  What's yours?

First off, vfc makes most of echo 1s platinum edition guns, dont hate lol... as far as the best deals on the market, if we look at cost to reliability and features...
jg m4 s series- seen these gunskeep goin through hell and they do it well
cyma-matrix full metal ak-at the top of the cheap price range ($200) you get a full metal and real wood ak shooting around 400 fps
Echo 1 e-90- right on the money with its ease of maintenance and reliability, theyre ideal for the small of frame
dboys-like cyma they do builds for other brands, from the m4s and aks ive seen, well worth the price

The do not buy list
ok, im not hating, these guns are best left to  those who know better but dont care..
kwa- decent guns in performance, they lack on the reliability and serviceability dept.  most kwa parts do not work with other guns and vice versa.
gas guns- these are not beginner guns, they can be finicky and uber expensive.
sniper rifles- unless you know for sure you can snipe or you did a few tours in nam and wanna get back on the tools any sniper rifles should be avoided as a first gun, get with a friend and borrow his to get the feel of sniping first.
saws- expensive heavy and specialized follow the same rules as with sniper rifles.
finaly, anything super high speed, super high velocity, superman or otherwise- if it sounds custom and looks custom you should run away. These guns are built by gun people for gun people. Many times the builder is the only one who knows how to fix it should it break. Prices on these guns and services are outta here!!

a last word  of advice..
get a pistol. You should always have recourse if you are inspde med. There is no excuse.
we is a leader in quality, reliability and serviceability.

ok, i am going to correct myself here. after replacing a split nozzle, worn piston, replacing the oring, and cleaning the motor, i am pushing 415 fps out of an otherwise stock JG M16A3 enhanced at a respectable rate of fire. of course, thats with a M4 length TBB and marui hopup installed as well, without which it would probably be firing 400fps.

I agree with most of what cloak said.

JG/ECHO 1 for M4 types and CYMA for AK, ECHO 1 P90 and MP5s and for the most part the best bang for your buck guns on the market.

Though I also agree with ECHO in that JG and ECHO1 do have some lemons(as most companies do).
But they also on certain modules have fairly common/fequent design flaws. The JG/ECHO1 G36 for example while a great weapon that lasts (FOREVER) has a reoccuring problem with the plasitc on the hopup unit and over time requires some attension.

As far as KWA it is really hit and miss for people from my experiance. The KWA that I own is the best stock performing AEG I have ever seen as far as range, accuracy. I have also never had a problem with it. I know people that have owned them for 100k rounds with 0 problems and I know people that have nightmare stories after only 5-10k rounds so perhaps it depends on the gun or the user. I personally would recommend them if you have the money and not wanting to go crazy with performace tweaks and modifications. Because like claok said they are very picky about compatibility of parts.

TM guns I think(while not metal) are some of the most durable guns(if you leave them stock) on the market. Also they are the led in best stock hop-up units from when I have seen.

I would also avoid, SAWs, Snipers, and really high speed/high FPS guns as beginner guns as they are typically difficult to get the way you want them and money pits. Though as he said they have their purpose for those that enjoy them.

As many of you know I also would not recommend high FPS for any reason(cept for sniper). Don't need to get in a big discussion on this post about it(welcome to contact me if you would like to hear my reasoning), but I would suggest going with the 300-350 for all guns.

I personally have had a lot of trouble with WE Pistols and actually would not recommend them. Their quality control is terrible in that they have a high lemon rate. However, if you get a good one, it is a good quality gun that lasts.

My reasoning on the we pistols is theyre the mose easily and cheaply custamizeable on the market, as a rule though any blowback type pistol will be less reliable than some nbb pistols.  Also i should insert an honorable mention here.

G&G armament m14, soc16, and m4 (metal recievers, not combat machine. These are gr16s)
personaly ive owned these guns. Although the m14 versions have compatibility issues with mags and pistons, theyre extremely robust, to the point id say theyre the strongest mb on the market. The gr16 version is also in my opinion a very superior product, extremely robust, and wpth no compatibility issues.
G&G are not the cheapest on the market, but if i were a beginner with a bit of extra cash id go for one.

i would agree with cloak on the G&G series. I own a G&G M14. I bought mine used. with no known internal aftermarket upgrades, it was a solid gun. only issues i've had are battery related ( the battery caused the problems).

Stock it could reach out and touch people and they know it.

cons? weight (its rather heavy), mags are proprietary.

Pros? upgraded stock internals, durability.

I've had little or no problems with any jg/dboy i have bought.....correction ive had a bad one but anyways g&g are great quality guns if you are willing to pay the big bucks for a good weapon. I bought the g2010 and had 1 problem and that was with the trigger. I currently have a SRC RPK and i have it on a 9.6 battery and it does great for range and it could do a little more on the fps, rate of fire is nice.

I got lucky on my SR25. I only paid $85.00 for it.  My brother didn't know how to fix it and I kinda did.  So i got a $370.00 gun for $85.00.  But for a good value to me?  G&P M4 Zombie Killer series/ $270.00 Shoots amazing.  It's light weight, very durable, and ofcourse completely suitable for customization.  This is one that I will soon have in my arsenal.  Later!

everyone has given their recommendations on AEGs, but I'll throw one out there for the snipers. A&K's SVD dragunov is a solid gun with a stock 450 FPS and a insanely long inner barrel, its range is surprising. upgrades in literally seconds with AEG springs. Pull the cover off and remove 2 hex screws and poof new spring and higher FPS. Though i don't suggest anything over M150 spring as anything higher can break stuff inside the gun later. Its a little hard to pull back but this is solved by silicon oil to make it a little easier. also wear gloves with some sort of padding on the palm. For $150 bucks this gun is a steal, compared to the others that will shoot shorter distances and weight you down.

A sniper is at his most dangerous when the bullets stop flying, cause it's then that his enemies start coming out of their cover.

Break the chain of command, break their spirit, and then the leftovers will break themselves.

As far as snipers go, I think the JG Bar-10 is the best sniper platform on the market. They have the most parts available, it is very light, it is very quiet, and once upgraded have the best accuracy and range I have ever seen in a sniper. For some the weight is a flaw cause "it is not the weight of a real gun". And the base gun is only $130 and is a pretty decent stock gun as well.
