I'm curious.  I know I have my fav moments in airsofting,  but I wanna hear YOURS!!  Just start with ONE of your fav (or most hated) moments in airsoft.  It can be a story of courage, or just something plain STUPID that you did or witnessed!  Try to include when and where it happened!

Okay I'll show y'all how to tell a war story.  I have many, but this is the first that came to mind...

THE NOOB NEST...

I think it was OP DOOMSDAY, at the PIT. 2008.  I was OPFOR (surprised?) and I was quietly moving in on a position where I had just seen AIRFORCE and two more guys advance to cover themselves.  They were behind a berm or hill that was about 7 feet tall that dropped off sharply into what looked like a crater on the other side.  Now I knew the two younger guys were noobs and that this was their first game.  I also "knew" that I was about to have three kills!!  But, in an attempt to demonstrate sportsmanly conduct, I decided I would charge to the top of the berm, echo1 mp5 shouldered, and yell "SURRENDER!!!" Sad

What I FAILED to realize was that it wasn't just AIRFORCE and his two noob trainees on the other side....

PICTURE IT:  A very confident CREEPER tops the berm with his mp5 shouldered.  I expected to scare the heck out of three guys, who in turn, would obviously surrender.  Right?  WRONG!

I topped the berm to find not three, but SEVEN noobs plus AIRFORCE on the other side!! Only one part of my plan went "as planned":  I DID scare the heck out of them.  The seven noobs, who were in a cluster, distances ranging anywhere from 3 to 10 feet away from me, all turned and fired on me with sheer terror on their faces.  Having already gone too far, I had choice but to stand there until the shooting stopped.  After the last of the full auto bursts had trickled to and end, I stood motionless for about 3 seconds before I quietly said "hit"...

I looked up and realized that being the veteran he was, AIRFORCE was the ONLY one who had responded to my surrender call, and was the ONLY one who DIDN'T shoot me.  And by this time, he was literally rolling on the ground laughing, while the look of terror still lingered on the faces of seven noobs.  After about 15 more seconds, they finally lowered their weapons, but there was STILL a vibe I got from them; like they were thinking "DID WE KILL IT?  ARE WE SURE IT'S REALLY DEAD?"....

30 seconds after I entered the NEST OF NOOBS, AIRFORCE is still on the ground laughing.

Moral of the story:  showing courtesy to noobs can be a double edged sword.

Right.  But I didn't have a grenade and I thought it would a good opportunity to be a "role model"....
Yeah.  I haven't been role modeling ever since then.

Here are a couple,
In "that" spot
My first experience with a "uber" airsoft gun was a bolt action bar 10 sniper clone. My friend hunter had his pt 111 springer. I had caught on long before that airsoft bbs could be made to curve around objects if shot into the wind. Hunter takes cover behind a tree and fires a few ranging shots.. we exchange shouts across the hollow about how we were both out of range. On a hunch i fire one shot far to the left of my hiding friend. My round flies up out and then glides right into the hiding place where hunter was squatting. The next moment a horrifying scream rises from behind the tree, followed by hunter rolling out of his hiding spot holding his knees. I asked where i had git him, which after a few high pitched expletive he simply states "THAT SPOT!!!!"  we all know what spot... he has never airsofted again.

Crackshot
It is summer 2010, apgob, pickup game. I had recently purchased and upgraded a beta spetz from cyma.  I am working to get onto the island to find a skull which was the objective. Not seeing anyone gaurding a bridge i do my best paul blart across the trail and duck behind a pallet on the edge of the dry creekbank. To my horror, i see dyno, cupcake, and immediately below my pallet, sparky... in a knee jerk reactioni raise my gun and unload a burst into the pallet as the group in the creek begins to turn at me. Horrified i ceased firing at the top of my recoil arc and call myself out for engaging way to close. Sparky is looking at me and rubbing his stomache.  He states, nice shot dude and we all get a good laugh. One bb had made its way through a crack in the pallet and hit sparky.. it was my most epic shot.

Too good to be true
Spring 2011, pickup game, dynomutts
i had heen stalking a small group of enemy in a pickup game on hamburger hill. Wben i see everal of my guys move up toward the top of the rpdge i cut out across the hollow to meet up with them, firing at tsrgets at the top of the hill and doing my best rambo. Then i get closer and realize those targets were stumps and my guys were walking to the point where dyno was calling the game over.... o well at least it looked good...

Im not as think as you dumb i am...
operation red dawn, stonewall
the wolverines had been engaging the russkies from our briar patch. We had all gotten caught in a crossfire. Me and a brt member were dead. After looking at the situation and discussing how best to perform our dropdead respawn in such bad terrain we decide to head to the safe zone, as we figured this was our only viable direction of retreat. Stuffing my dead rag in my pocket to try to not be sawed alive by briars i emerge onto the trail to be met with a burst of fire from argie and creeper.. surprised i raise my hand and holler "im not dead yes im dead wait jm respawning wait uuuuh ok...." creeper gives me his head to the side wtf did you say look. After a min of exchanging looks i realize my mouth and brain hadnt been on the same page..." im dead i am respawning and trying to retreat"....  at this creeper gets the chuckles and adgie gets his trademark walmart man smile.. i quickly retreat into the treeline in embarassment.
