I recently put a JG enhanced gearbox in my KWA M16br. I should have done more research first. As it turns out, the KWA lower receiver is designed to accept only the KWA gearbox. This however, doesn't mean that it can't be done. Only minor filing is required on the JG gearbox, and minor filing on the KWA receiver. ALSO, the KwA air nozzle is designed to only work with the KWA hop up. So you can either install a KWA air nozzle on the new gearbox, or install a one piece TM compatible hop up on the KWA. This would require dremeling the lower receiver to make room for the hop up unit. This may have been common knowledge to some of you, but maybe someone will find this info useful.

UPDATE: After I installed the JG gearbox into the KWA receiver, I noticed that the air nozzle isnt the only difference. The spring guide for the KWA is different also, but most importantly, the tappet plate for the KWA would also have to used in order to install the JG box. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldnt have opened the gearbox in the first place. I would have dremeled the body to accept the one piece metal hop up.

Well, JG is a clone manufacturer, and the clone guys usually make them slightly different on purpose. It blows, but, is inevitable in any case. I learned first hand myself when rebuilding a severely abused echo 1 m4. The weapon started out as abs plastic, now, the only plastic left on it happens to be, the lower receiver and pistol grip. Everything else has been changed out for all metal construction. Before i painted it, it resembled a junk yard dog, after paint, a sleek, yet un-adorned weapon. No manufacturing id what so ever remains. i even replaced the old glass style fuse with a blade fuse used in most automobiles. Tougher to fit it into the weapon yes, but much easier to find a replacement fuse, and to facilitate future maintenance, the fuse section is 100% removable from the harness for easier breakdown of the weapon ( dean's connectors at both ends). It had an over all effect of making the weapon extremely solid and durable. It has seen nearly 100 hundred games since the rebuild and has not failed yet.
