Okay here we go, A mortar firing 40mm grenades, Taking the actual real thing into thought. Build it as so., A course you guys are now saying well how would you remove the grenade after firing. Thanks for asking you will make the tube removeable with a thread end, so after firing the grenade unscrew it, drop the grenade out on deck and rescrew the tube into place., Now your going to ask how would it fired the grenade well this is what we would do, When you remove the tube there should be a Bolt sized to the standard 40mm grenade that when you drop the grenade down the tube it would strike the grenade and fire the bb into the air.  Remember the Mortar has to be properly sized to allow the grenade to strike just so perfect.

I figure you would at least have to wrap the top of the grenade with tape or dense foam to equal the diameter of the lower flange.  That way it will stay straight sliding down the barrel

I have never built one, as they say it always looks good on paper then actual one, but thinking about it , it should nice fit to it. I may have to buy a 40mm grenade and start building one.  (??)

if you make a tube with a slot in it for retrieval of the shell, then all you need is another sliding pipe section to cover said hole, therefore speeding up the reload process and giving the mortar team more excitement and action. Not mention , it gives them a tactical use on the battlefield. I had thought of firing nerf shells instead of bb's though.

i have been playin with the nerf mortar idea and this is what i have come up with... a nozzle in the bottom of th mortar that is supplied by a 20 oz air bottle (external) and activated by some kind of switch or something of the like, it eliminates the problem with having to have the grenade and remove it everytime and also keeps the realism of having to muzzle load each round. ive also been toying with the idea that we could use a gas gun valve in the bottom of the mortar that would be struck by the falling "round" and thus set off the gas valve.. just my 2 cent worth

Hello everyone, I haven't invented anything, but I did want to introduce you to my new "Friend"

His name is Snicker.  He is a gas operated airsoft grenade.  His specialty is firing 80 bbs in a 360 degree cone from whereever he is tossed.  Oh, for those unfortunate enough to make his acquaintance, he'll be delivering said bbs in your general direction at around 120 fps and (depending on the bb) up to around a 20' kill radius.

Right now he's hungry for either green gas or propane so as soon as I can feed him some he'll be making his appearance at airsoft events near you!

Hmm Snicker i like the name. Does he come with nuts and caramel? When can we see him in action?

Well, I've got the bbs for it and the gas will be in next week... Unfortunately, it will probably be after the first of the year.  Maybe I'll be able to post a video from Texas and let you guys know how it works...
