hi there, I am looking into a new sniper system and I'm a little lost as to what I should get, I currently have an agm L96 and I like it and all but I feel that it is not getting the job done, so I am looking for something better, and more quiet. I am kinda on a small budget (100-200 dollars) so if anybody knows of a good system for me to get please share your knowledge, thanks!!

With that price range, you are probably better off upgrading your current replica instead of buying a new one; I don't think there are any replicas that are much better than your current gun in that price range.

yeah, I was thinking about that, but I cant find any parts out there that will work with my gun, and the hop up is broken, the only way I can adjust it is if I take my gun apart :/

I did some research for you, and it seems like the AGM L96 uses VSR10 parts. I'll update this post if I can confirm on another website whether or not this is true.

Edit: Read through most of this review: http://www.airsoftretreat.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=228
It explains which parts are compatible with which types of aftermarket parts.
This explains how to modify hopups to fit into the AGM L96: http://airsoft-barracks.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2958

Here are some topics to review....

Maybe I can get Mateba, Widow, or Sniperswoosh to get an Answer to this one.

No problem. I'm assuming that any hop-up that would fit the UTG M324 could be modified to fit your L96, but I'm not 100% sure. If I'm right though, there should be a good amount of high quality hop-ups that are available.

alright, I am a little lost here, I am about a year into airsoft, and I am not familiar with internals of guns and stuff, so I am probably going to have to get some help with that, and I took my gun apart to see what I am dealing with, and all the screws were stripped badly so I am a little mad about that. Undecided

I can try to help, but I'm not great with internals myself. Yeah, stripped screws are a pretty common problem in clones; they use very low quality screws. But it's nothing a trip to the Home Depot can't fix.  Grin I know my Echo 1 AK had a lot of stripped screws too.

Edit: If there turns out to be any problems that nobody here can help with, then you can try airsoftsniper.proboards.com
Send your questions to either Mosin, Livonia, or Embed. I know them from the Michigan airsoft forum and they knew a great deal about sniper rifles (which is probably why they are moderators on the site).

haha home depot is always my first stop for stuff, I don't know why though. and I think that i will put some Teflon tape of my piston head, hopefully that will work out well, its cool if it doesn't though, my gun is pretty much in pieces as it is. I really like my gun though so hopefully these upgrades will work out, well thanks for the help, and please share anymore information you come across Smiley

This should help you with the hop-up mod if you end up deciding to go through with it: http://www.airsoftretreat.com/forums/index.php?action=printpage;topic=88635.0

Okay first off im not familiar with the agm models but ive  never seen an l96 that takes bar-10 parts. most take aps2. Honestly I reccomend you just start over and buy a jg bar10 and upgrade it. Installing the upgrades is very simple and there are many guides online. Heres what I would get and have purchased and built several times.

I do realize it is a little over your budget but honestly if you want a rifle that is consistant, practical, and powerfull then your gonna have to spend at least this much. my current gun has over $900 into it.

I looked into it, actually I just looked at the posts that tormentor supplied me with, which is much appreciated, and it looks like the any l96 takes vsr-10 parts, and after doing some custom works I have my gun shooting well into the 500 fps range, and more accurately. Now I am just going to buy a spring guide, another hop up unit to turn it into a v-hop again just better this time, and a new piston. My gun is also going to get a better, less shiny paint job, so now she will be all nice and pretty  Grin
