i had been designing one of these. I think it would be easy to replicate with a .50 cal ammo can, and m249 internals, and an m-16 length inner barrel. The rest is just window dressing to make it look right.

the price of buying one when compared to buying the parts one at a time and building one is what turned me towards designing my own. Let's face it, this thing is a box with a barrel and a tripod. A longer barrel on m249 internals, with a non-vented cylinder means longer range than standard m249, making this an effective stationary weapon for defensive positions. Just too pricey for my blood to buy outright. hence the designing one is the only other option.
